Asian people have a reputation for being intelligent, diligent, and idealistic. These traits frequently appeal to American gentlemen who are seeking a partner who will issue them and encourage them to reach their full potential. This dialogue stands in for the tropes that portray Asian women as duplicitous dragon ladies and Madame Butterfly as tragic figures of self-sacrifice and chastity. Although this discussion is long overdue, it is still a fight.
